# Status tracker — expected answer

All people and tasks are fictional. The CSV is starting data; CSV cannot store a Google Sheets dropdown or its validation rule.

1. Import `status-tracker-practice.csv` to a new Google Sheet. Row 1 is the header; there are five task rows.
2. Create one dropdown rule for **D2:D6** with the exact choices `Queued`, `In progress`, `Done`. Keep the invalid-data setting on **Reject input** (the documented default), not **Show a warning**.
3. Try typing `In progres` into D2. Expected: Google Sheets rejects it and D2 remains `Queued`.
4. Choose `Done` from D2's dropdown. Expected: D2 now displays `Done`.
5. Count the five rows: three `Done`, zero `Queued`, two `In progress`; none contains `In progres`.

If the typo is accepted, open Data → Data validation and inspect the rule's target range and Advanced options. If you see a warning instead of rejection, change the invalid-data option from **Show a warning** to **Reject input**. The exact control may move as Google changes the interface. See [Google's current dropdown help](https://support.google.com/docs/answer/186103?hl=en).
