# Google Drive link test — expected observations

Use only the fictional `fictional-launch-brief.txt` file. This package does not contain a live Google Drive link, and the access checks below are **expected outcomes**, not completed account tests.

| Setting on the test file | Signed-out window with copied link | Expected observation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| General access: Anyone with the link; role: Viewer | Open the link | File contents open in read-only mode. |
| General access: Restricted | Reload the same link | Access is denied or Google asks the visitor to request access/sign in. |

Before the test, confirm the private window is truly signed out of Google. After switching back to Restricted, also inspect **People with access**: a named person or group may still have access. Inspect the parent folder, because sharing that folder can grant access to its contents. Workspace administrators may restrict which sharing options are available. A signed-out test does **not** prove whether a specifically invited person can open the file; that requires a separate authorized account.
