# Independent answer check — episode 142

The downloadable workbook starts with B2 = 3, C2 = 12.50, and formula D2 = B2*C2. Independent arithmetic gives 3 × 12.50 = 37.50. In a disposable protected copy, changing B2 to 4 should be allowed and the same formula should calculate 4 × 12.50 = 50.00. Restore B2 to 3 at the end.

The protection test has two different outcomes: input range B2:C2 accepts an edit, while formula cell D2 resists replacing =B2*C2 with 999. A correct initial total alone does not prove protection. A blocked formula edit alone does not prove inputs remain usable. The exact Excel web control must be confirmed in the current tenant; the authored workbook is not itself a record of an observed app test. Worksheet protection helps prevent accidental edits and does not secure confidential data.
