# Independent answer check — Gmail scheduled email

Gmail's [official Schedule send guide](https://support.google.com/mail/answer/9214606?hl=en) supplies the expected state transitions below. They were not observed in a live account during this source-package draft.

| Step | Expected location or state | What proves the step |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Schedule the self-addressed fictional message | Scheduled | Message appears with its chosen send time |
| Select Cancel send | Drafts / editable compose draft | The pending schedule is removed; text can be edited |
| Change `five` to `six` | Draft | Body shows `six fictional seats` |
| Optional: schedule again | Scheduled | New send time appears |
| Cancel again before leaving | Drafts | No practice message remains in Scheduled |

The schedule follows the time zone chosen when scheduling, and Gmail says the message may send a few minutes after that time. A far-future choice gives room to inspect and cancel; it is not a guarantee against operator error. If the message appears in **Sent**, the cancellation exercise did not end before sending.

Before release, verify the exact Gmail UI and these states in an English account using only a self-addressed fictional message. Capture no private mailbox content. No message was scheduled or sent while writing these files.
