# Fictional Outlook web signature practice

This exercise uses a made-up coordinator. It does not require sending a message.

## Signature text

Jordan Lee
Workshop Coordinator
Solo Ops Practice

## Expected settings for the exercise

| Compose type | Default signature |
| --- | --- |
| New messages | Jordan Lee — Practice |
| Replies/forwards | Jordan Lee — Practice |

The signature name can be `Jordan Lee — Practice`. Use plain text to keep the visual check simple.

## Draft-only check

1. In Outlook on the web or Outlook.com, open **Settings > Accounts > Signatures** and select the correct account. **Add signature** is on that page if you need a new practice signature.
2. Use a dedicated demo account if possible. If you must use your normal mailbox, write down the current new-message and replies/forwards defaults first. Create the separate fictional signature above and choose it as the default for **new messages** and **replies/forwards** only for this temporary test. Save.
3. Open a new, unaddressed message draft. Check that the signature appears. Do not send it.
4. If the mailbox already has a clearly fictional test message, choose **Reply** to that message and check the signature in the unsent reply. You may also inspect **Forward** without sending. Do not use a personal email for filming.
5. Close or discard the unsent drafts according to your account's normal workflow. If a reply draft was not available, record that the setting is configured but actual reply insertion was not verified.
6. In a normal mailbox, restore both original defaults and check a fresh unsent draft so the fictional practice signature will not appear in later mail.

If this is an account with an existing business signature, do not overwrite it merely for practice. Use a dedicated demo account or create a separate named practice signature where allowed, then restore the desired defaults after testing.
