Privacy & analytics
You can read the guides and download practice files without agreeing to analytics. This page explains what changes if you choose to allow it.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager. The analytics tag loads only after you accept analytics.
Analytics choice
The choice banner offers Accept analytics and Reject. If you reject or have not chosen, this site does not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics. If you accept, the site loads Google Tag Manager and its Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tag.
We save your choice in this browser's local storage so you do not have to answer again on every page. If browser storage is blocked or cleared, you may see the choice again. You can change it below or through Analytics settings in the footer. If you switch from Accept to Reject, the page reloads to stop the already loaded container and tries to remove this site's GA cookies. Changing your choice cannot undo data already sent to Google.
What GA4 can receive
After you accept, GA4 may receive details such as the page address and title, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions configured in the GA4 account. GA4 can use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visitors and sessions. The exact events, cookie lifetime, and data retention depend on the GA4 configuration and your browser.
We also count two click actions after you accept analytics: resource_download when you select a practice-file download, and youtube_open when you select a link to YouTube. The download event can include the file name, extension, and guide page. The YouTube event can include the destination host, path, video ID when available, and guide page. These events record a click, not proof that a file finished downloading or a video was watched. We omit URL query strings from these custom event details. GA4's own enhanced measurement may separately record standard file_download or outbound click events.
Google's explanations of GA4 cookies and data collection provide more detail.
