If one site is stuck in a login loop or retains stale preferences, remove its stored data without choosing a browser-wide cookie clear. Google's current desktop route is Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies > See all site data and permissions. Use the one-site checklist and scope worksheet before acting. The companion video uses labelled illustrative diagrams; no existing user cookie was removed for this exercise.
Before you remove anything
Save an unfinished form, draft, or cart on the affected site. Copy the website name from the address bar and check whether related subdomains appear in Chrome's stored-data list. Deleting cookies may sign you out of the selected website and remove its saved preferences. Choose the exact target; avoid using an important financial or identity service as a casual test.
Clear only the chosen site's data
- In desktop Chrome, open Settings.
- Select Privacy and security > Third-party cookies > See all site data and permissions.
- Search for the website name. Read the matching domain entries; similar names can refer to different sites.
- At the intended entry, select Remove, then confirm Delete.
- Check that the intended entry is absent from the list. Reload that website, sign in again if needed, and see whether the original problem changed.
Do not use Delete browsing data for this narrow exercise: that command is the broader route. The selected site's cookies may be shared across its own subdomains or single-sign-on flow, so a related service may also ask you to sign in again. This is a scope limitation, not a promise that every unrelated session remains untouched.
| Checkpoint | What to record |
|---|---|
| Before | Exact target domain; unfinished work saved |
| In settings | Only intended site-data entry selected |
| After | Target entry removed; target page reloaded |
| If unresolved | Stop and check the site's own status/support |

Will this fix every sign-in loop? No. It removes one possible cause. Account issues, extensions, service outages, or server-side sessions can create similar symptoms.
Will I be signed out? You may be signed out of the selected site. Google's help warns that deleting cookies can remove remembered sign-ins and preferences.
Why are several results shown? A service can store data under related hostnames. Read each hostname and remove only what you intend.
