Quick answer. Gmail forwarding not working? Check address verification, whether forwarding is on, the filter mode and receipt of a new non-spam message. This guide uses fictional data. The outcome must be checked in your own app; a settings screen alone does not prove it.

Use the original practice resource and independent answer check. Work only in an account you are permitted to use.

What success looks like. A new non-spam test message sent to the source Gmail address also appears in the verified destination inbox. Settings alone cannot prove receipt.

1. Check the starting state

In Gmail Settings > See all settings, open Forwarding and POP/IMAP (or Forwarding).

Checkpoint: Record the currently saved destination and forwarding mode before making changes.

2. Inspect the relevant setting

Check whether the destination address is verified; adding it sends a real verification email.

Checkpoint: Verification requires access to destination inbox.

3. Apply the focused correction

Choose all-new-mail forwarding or a selective filter, then save the intended configuration.

Checkpoint: One intended mode at a time.

4. Run the controlled check

From an authorized sender, send a new harmless test message to the source Gmail address. Confirm it reaches the source account, then check the verified destination inbox for the forwarded copy. Do not send a test until the sender and destination owners agree.

Checkpoint: Use fictional non-spam content.

5. Record the result

Check the destination inbox for the matching copy; a source-side setting alone is not delivery proof.

Checkpoint: Do not claim receipt from the sender view alone.

If it still does not work

Automatic forwarding excludes spam and does not re-forward old messages. Do not add a destination or send a test mail without authorization. If verification/receipt was not observed, state that the result is unverified.

Verify the result

After verifying the destination and saving the intended mode, receive a new permitted non-spam test message at the source Gmail address. Check for its forwarded copy in the destination inbox and record the subject and time in both places using the answer-check download. A saved setting without destination-side receipt does not establish delivery.
